Hungerpain Productions

Highlighting the next generation of riders

What started as a project to elevate the profiles of some up and coming snowboarders in the UK, led to 3 full lengths films, movie premiers and even an air bnb house.

Hungerpain became a movement for up and coming snowboarders. My role in this was to pull together the key athletes, find the editor, effects person and of course source financing for the project along with then overseeing the whole project.

-Title: Hungerpain -Release Date: Nov 2006 -Directed by: Jon Weaver -Produced by: Damian Doyle/STANDINGsideways -Intro/outro by: Pete Ellis -Distribution: Cover mount on Document Snowboard Magazine -Locations: USA, Europe, New Zealand -Riders: Josh Wolf, James Thorne, Henry Jackson, Jon Weaver, Ollie Plumley, Ryan Evans, Rick Barrow, Stu Edwards, Chris Chatt, Mark Ruparelia, Dom Harington, Tom West, Jonny Kirkham, Chris Schulz, Roland Morley-Brown and Chris Goulder -Sponsors: Forum, Jeenyus, R.E.D, Anon, Snow&Rock, Protest, Special Blend, FourSquare, Burton, Gravis, Rome -Info: ‘Hungerpain’ grabbed the UK scene by the balls and gave them a hefty tug, shaking things up dramatically in the 2005/06 season. At the time, only one film production a year came out of the UK, and too much talent was being overlooked. Jon Weaver pulled together a crew of under exposed riders, called upon Damian and SS for filming and editing duties, and produced the first of three standout films under the ‘Hungerpain’ banner. A film driven by raw passion and the desire for progression in UK snowboarding.
