Torrey Pines

IMG_1464I feel like we've been to quite a few spots in California but today was the first time we'd been to Torey Pines nature reserve.  Just south of the Cardiff reef as above, it is damn beautiful. IMG_1496It resembles part desert, part beach, part hike, its such a great spot for a quick hike and you can take any route of about 6 which give you a little workout.IMG_1502This is the view from above.  Amazing waves yesterday morning too.IMG_1507From up top we could see a couple of stand uppers going for it against the cliffs.IMG_1508We also managed to spied a whale way out back.IMG_1543We also saw this guy surfing the waves, yesterday morning I also surfed and saw a seal swim right by.  IMG_1529Insert tongue out emoticon here. IMG_1560Greg Martin was flying by too.IMG_1569Later on we packed up and headed for a beach spot.  One of the best things about a Land Rover is the tail gate which can fold down, and make a makeshift bed, restaurant, board waxing station, wind sheltering, star gazing station.  Lenny requested some shade from the sun though for his afternoon snooze.IMG_1572Thank you California for another lovely day.IMG_1516
